    Journalism Educators and Newspaper Executives Symposium

    Three copies of a speech given by Otis Chandler before the Journalism Educators and Newspaper Executives Symposium sponsored by the Western Newspaper Foundation in Reno, Nevada on October 25, 1974. One of the copies is has hand written notes scribbled on it in red pencil. Other items in this folder include two copies "A Symposium Education for Newspaper Careers .....Satisfied? Proceedings"; two pieces of correspondence between Freddie Miller and Lawrence Schneider, Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism at California State University, Northridge, in which Schneider request a copy of the speech and Miller sends him one; a letter from Jim Scott, a free lance writer, requesting a copy of the speech; a copy of the Western Newspaper Foundation; a page from November 9, 1974 issue of Editor & Publisher, with a note from Freddie Miller attached pointing out mistakes in the article; a newspaper clipping from the Nevada State Journal; a three page summary of a meeting held to finalize the Symposium; a congratulatory letter from Arthur Margosian, Dean of School of Professional Studies at California State University, Fresno; four items which consist of three letters from E.B. Beisner, Executive Director at Western Newspaper Foundation, an invitation to talk and two thank you letters.
