    Approx. 10 items: series of article copies reflecting Lewis' assignments and promotions between The Times, The Mirror News and the Herald-Examiner during the 1950s and 1960s. His obituary, which ran 8/17/1964, read in part, "Mr. Lewis, a journalist for more than 50 years, was a former publisher and editor of The Mirror News, editor at the time of his death of the Herald-Examiner and a former city editor of The Times."

    Material from Ralph W. Trueblood, Managing Editor from 1926 to 1934, William Holden, Assistant Managing Editor from 1934 to 1950, and L.D. Hotchkiss, Managing Editor, Editor and Editor-in-Chief between 1934 and 1958 were combined to form this collection of editorial background material. Includes documents on a wide range of topics of interest to the editorial staff. Much of it is correspondence and memoranda from Harry Chandler and includes his comments. The collection is arranged alphabetically by either correspondent or subject. Date range is 1905-1959; bulk of the material is dated 1930-1960.
