2 items: duplicate transcripts of an interview Jack Nelson did for a television program [unspecified] following the debut of the new Los Angeles Times Washington Bureau in 1980. Yellow copy is cleaned up, tan copy is marked up and edited. Notable names and subjects include:planning of the debut / open house party (pp. 1 - 2) ; much of the content of the transcript is attributed simply to "Woman," or "Man," the remainder to "Nelson" - apparently the woman was involved in planning the party and the man was the television Master of Ceremonies ; it is mentioned that 700 attended the event including President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, Henry Kissinger, Ed Muskie, Zbigniew Brzezinski, etc. ; much of the content beyond the big name politicians and others who attended the party is simply talking about the food, the music, who was a big help putting on the party - not much of profound historic substance.
