Approx. 35 items: subjects include, real estate booms, increase in automobile ownership, the change from a generally rural area to a sprawling urban "megalopolis,forecasts for the future," etc. Notable items: several lengthy journal articles on the land "boom" of the late 1880s ; booklet, Dollars and census, from Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, 1932 ; booklet, From Rural to Urban, The Haynes Foundation, 1947 ; booklet, The Cost of Metropolitan Growth, 1959 ; booklet, The Southern California Metropolis - 1980, predictions about 1980 from Southern California Research Council, appears to be from ca.1960.
