Hoover, Herbert
Manuscripts
7 items: a stapled packet of four letters between Norman Chandler and ex-president Herbert Hoover from 1945 when Hoover wrote at least two editorials for Los Angeles Times which ran with no indication they were by Hoover. The packet has a cover letter from 1988 written by Herb Strentz of Drake University, who claims Hoover praised his own actions and criticized Franklin Roosevelt in an unsigned editorial. There are also two letters to Norman Chandler from Hoover from the 1959 - 1960 period. Original Hoover letters removed from Autograph File and returned to Norman Chandler collection.
