Gift of Edwards H. Metcalf, October 1992. With bookplate and signature of Theodora Duncan. This volume was purchased by Edwards Metcalf from Theodora Duncan in 1969 and became part of his T.E. Lawrence collection; Metcalf donated his entire Lawrence collection to the Huntington in 1992 and this volume was transferred from the Rare Books Department to the Manuscripts Department by Alan Jutzi, October 30, 2012.

    Manuscripts

    A collection of leaves from an unidentified missal, books of hours, and antiphonal; also modern ephemera. HM 82933 (1) leaves from a missal written for Chichester Cathedral, with decorated initials and possibly Flemish illuminated borders. The five leaves are bound into a volume with black Morocco binding and two ribbons laid in; with the bookplate of Edward J. Loftus pasted onto first page.

    Horoscope for Sultan Amir Zadeh Rustam

    Manuscripts

    This volume is the horoscope of Sultan Amir Zadeh Rustam. It was written in 822 AH in Persian (with some Arabic) by Yahya ibn Imad bin Yahya Al-Munajjim al-Kashi. It is probably the copy presented to the Sultan. It includes finely illuminated borders and sarlauh on initial pages but dampstained. Some color is fading. The volume also includes some notes about the manuscript, probably from the 1940s.
