The volumes include: 1. 1906, June-1914, May; 2. 1914, May-1919, May; 3. 1921, June-1923, March; 4. 1921, July-1922, July; 5. 1923, March-1924, December; 6. 1926, July-1927, June; 7. 1927, June-1928, November; 8. 1932, November-1934, December; 9. 1934, December-1936, June; and 10. 1937, November-1946. Some of the volumes are in fragile condition, covers loose, etc.

The diaries chronicle Bushman's life in Utah and Arizona, and include references to Church activities, news and visits to family and acquaintances, agricultural work, and Bushman's colonization activities in Arizona. The first reel also contains a combination autobiography and diary covering the years 1843-1926, and which references the Black Hawk War, settlements in Arizona, and Indian affairs in Utah.
