    This is a bound handwritten draft of Dr. Hunter's "Two introductory lectures, delivered by Dr. William Hunter, to his last course of anatomical lectures..." which was published in 1784. With the lectures are three other items all related to Dr. Hunter's desire to build a museum and school of anatomy in London; these include: a handwritten copy of Hunter's request for land in London, 1764 (this is separate from the volume); a letter by Hunter to Prime Minister George Grenville; and a handwritten manuscript that was given to the "King by Mr. Hawkins" (the last two items are at the end of the volume).

    Gold dredging in California: book with handwritten notes by Charles Janin

    This book was owned by Charles Janin. He was one of the authors of the book along with William B. Winston. It was issued by Lewis E. Aubury, California State Mineralogist. It was the California State Mining Bureau's Bulletin no. 57 and was published in 1910. This copy contains handwritten notes by Charles Janin as well as handwritten tables. It contains six loose items including articles and a pamphlet about dredging. There is also a review of the book glued into the inside front cover across from Janin's signature.

    There are 376 pieces of manuscripts, the majority of which are by Olive Percival. The manuscripts comprise of biographical sketches, diaries, notebooks, poems, short stories, typescripts, and miscellaneous notes. There are 122 pieces of correspondence, the majority of which are by Ellen Dame Terry writing to Anna Held. It is arranged alphabetically then by date. Correspondence relating to Olive Percival mainly concerns letters from her friends and publisher. There are 341 pieces of ephemera. It is arranged by type and subject, and consists of an appointment book, bookmarks, bookplates, bulletins, empty envelopes, fliers, invoices, legal documents, military records, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, excerpts of periodicals, receipts, scrapbooks, tracts, and miscellaneous United States permits and a passport. The majority of the ephemera relates to Sheffield, Illinois, where Olive Percival was born.
