    Letters and receipts related to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Alameda, Sacramento, San Andreas, Diamond Spring, and Stockton, California. Includes a letter of resignation as Vice Grand of Charity Lodge No.6 from Benjamin P. Kooser (also includes notes on a ball to attract new members), a printed prospectus and receipt for the I.O.O.F. "Black Book" (1856), a letter about an Indiana member's wife who is searching for him in California, a printed circular asking for donations, a printed list of how many representatives each lodge is entitled to (1858), and a letter from C.A.E. Hertel detailing his illnesses and asking for sick benefits.

    Two documents from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Michigan City, Charity Lodge No. 6. Includes a notice of the rejection of Kimball Raver's membership application (September 30, 1854) and a notice of the expulsion of A.J. Van Trump for contempt (April 14, 1855).

Some material is related to Ione Lodge #51, which is no longer an active Odd Fellows chapter. It also contains material related to Centennial Lodge #247 and Golden Rule Lodge #160.
