Four mixed media prints by Ivan Green inspired by Stowe House and landscape gardens, Buckinghamshire, England
Image not available
- Description
- The artist has created a series of 21 prints, from which the present set of 4 is taken, which were inspired by a Gilbert West poem of 1732 praising the house and landscape gardens at Stowe in Buckinghamshire, England. Green explains that "the finished works concentrate on the union of both Mansion and garden, following a natural rhythm making two halves whole once again, with a srong emphasis on architectural form, and a little visual trickery, creating a stage to be viewed, and walked around, my own interpretation of the invented landscape." The titles of the individual prints are: Covert of the maze; Thy muse has sung; Sleep & Solitude: North front.
