This is a compilation by Dick and Fitzgerald of previously published sources on ballroom dance. Although advertised as a ballroom prompter, only one page is devoted to calling figures in a quadrille. The book contains rudimentary etiquette advice and dance instructions for numerous dances including the grand march, quadrilles, contradances such as "Virginia Reel," "Pop Goes the Weasel," "Spanish Dance," and "Sicilian Circle." Also described are various round dances such as the polka, polka redowa, modern plain waltz, Boston Dip, varsovienne, and galop. The manual concludes with 104 figures for the popular parlor game, the German (also known as the cotillon)

There is an autograph note on the inside front cover: "This book was given to me by Lady Abercomby, Lady Dysarts oldest friend at Adelaide House, St Leonards."

Manuscripts
William Percy (1575-1648), third son to the Eighth Earl of Northumberland, was an amateur dramatist and poet. Work is a transcription by Percy in 1647 of six of his plays (The Cuck-Queanes and Cuckolds errants, Arabia siticus, the Faery pastorall or Forest of Elves, A country tragaedye in Vacuniam, the Aphodysia and Necromantes), songs and epigrams.

Self-published family memoir and history compiled by Harriet Williams Myers in 1945. Focuses on biographies of Myers and her brothers Henry Smith Williams and Edward Huntington Williams, including anecdotes about their childhoods and a compilation of their later accomplishments. Includes the text of an articles on birds by Henry Williams, the text of various songs and poems meaningful to the family, and the text of obituaries for Henry and Edward Williams. Also includes several printed illustrations, some original photographs of members of the Williams family, and a letter from the author explaining her reasons for writing the book, dated January 1945.
