Pocket diary that Ridgeway kept in 1865 includes brief accounts of the battle at Hatcher's Run (Feb.5-7), Watkins's House (Mar. 25), the Appomattox Campaign (Mar. 28-April 9), the surrender of Lee and his army, and March to Washington, D.C. (May 2-12). The diary effectively ends on May 16; the rest of the manuscript consists of brief entries, mostly scattered accounts made in the 1868-1872.

A small pocket diary, with entries running from Feb. 21 to Nov. 21, 1862; the bulk penned between Apr. 4 and the late May. The brief entries cover the advance to Manassas, Va. (Mar. 10-15), Howards Mill (Apr. 4), Warwick Road (Apr. 5), Siege of Yorktown (Apr. 5-May 4), Battle of Williamsburg (May 5), Expedition to James River (May 25-26), and the Battle of Fair Oaks (May 31-June 1). The entries for June 25 ? July 1 (Seven Days before Richmond) are blank except for a short entry on June 28. The rest of the occasional entries are mostly miscellaneous notes and accounts.

Charles Lee Civil War diary

Diary that Charles Lee kept from January 1 to November 10, 1864. In addition to camp life and multiple vows to lay off whiskey, the diary covers visits to the regiment by Ulysses S. Grant and Joshua Thomas Owen, and gives brief accounts of the battles at Morton's Ford (1864, Feb. 6 - 7), Po River, (May 10, 1864), and the Petersburg campaign, including Jerusalem Plank Road (June 22 - 23), Strawberry Plains (Aug. 14), Ream''s Station (Aug. 25), Weldon Railroad (Aug. 25), and Fort Sedgwick (Oct. 27) and describes Finley hospital which Lee described as "a singular place" with the "Band playing at one End of the Ward outside and the Doctors performing an operation at the other."

Microfilm of a diary kept by Moses Farnsworth during his British mission from 1862-1864. The diary opens with a detailed account of his travels from Salt Lake City to New York and sailing to Liverpool. The rest of the diary recounts his mission work and attendance of church conferences, primarily in Sunderland, Newcastle, and Dudley. At the back of the volume is a list of mission fund contributors.

Microfilm of the diaries of John Bushman, covering 1871-1923. The diaries chronicle Bushman's life in Utah and Arizona, and include references to Church activities, news and visits to family and acquaintances, agricultural work, and Bushman's colonization activities in Arizona. The first reel also contains a combination autobiography and diary covering the years 1843-1926, and which references the Black Hawk War, settlements in Arizona, and Indian affairs in Utah.
