Orde of Edge Hill, commissioning George Perfect Harding, 1780-1853 to copy portraits in various country homes throughout England. Harding, who died in 1853, was known for this particular type of work and also as a miniaturist. Apparently, Orde intended to use the pictures to illustrate a work on John Evelyn.
