All of the letters in this collection are typewritten contemporary copies except for HM 66720, which is an autograph letter, signed. The copies which were made for Allan Nevins by John Campbell White, the son of the diplomat, Henry White. The majority of the letters were written by James Bryce, Viscount Bryce, who knew White from their diplomatic work; there are also letters by Arthur Balfour (Earl of Balfour), George Curzon (Marquess Curzon of Kedleston), Elise Jusserand, William Brodrick (Earl of Midleton), James Rhodes, and Sir Cecil Spring Rice.
