- Gift of Jean Preston, May 27, 1977. This gift included 18 other letters by various 19th century artists and authors which have been cataloged separately (HM 63263-63285); as well as an 1864 pencil drawing by Valentine Cameron Prinsep (1836-1904), which was transferred to the Huntington Gallery, June 1, 1977.
