Assets, liabilities, and income of Anita May Baldwin

The collection consists of letters, documents, volumes, and maps related to the business affairs of the Santa Anita Ranch from 1901 to 1904, and the Los Angeles Racing Association from 1907 to 1922. Of the approximately 600 pieces in this collection, 400 are receipts of the Los Angeles Racing Association. Additional material in the collection includes correspondence, diaries, and documents related to the personal and business affairs of Anita M. Baldwin. Also included is the estate settlements of Elias Jackson Baldwin and his elder daughter Clara Baldwin Stocker for the period from 1876 to 1936, including two volumes of city dockets on criminal and civil justice for the city of Arcadia, California. The Addenda includes business papers for Baldwin M. Baldwin, the Los Angeles Racing Association, and Anita M. Baldwin. The Addenda also includes a small amount of personal material related to Anita M. Baldwin such as address books, library and household inventories, poems and other compositions, musical scores, photographs, and scrapbooks.

The John Janney collection contains correspondence and business records related to mining in the early 20th century American West. Included are files related to John Janney's several properties and interests, most of which were in Lincoln County, Nevada, including the Ely Valley Mines, Mountain View Hotel, Pioche Mines Company, Pioche Power and Light Company, and Tenabo Mining and Smelting Company. This collection exists as an extensive and rich documentation of Nevada mining, especially during the Great Depression and World War II.

There are 160 individual bound items in these 23 boxes. Each grouping is in reverse chronological order as it was originally filed by SP de México administrators. Collection has material in English and Spanish.

The collection consists of the personal and business papers of Henry E. Huntington. There is material related to the Huntington, Holladay, and Metcalf families, but most of the collection deals with Huntington's business interests in Southern California, railways, real estate, and industry. Series 2. Henry E. Huntington and his family includes biographical information, newspaper clippings, photographs, scrapbooks, ephemera, and physical objects. There is material related to the Huntington Land and Improvement Company, Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, and the Pacific Electric Railway Company as well as other businesses in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley, California. This material includes business records, account books, annual reports, correspondence, maps, tracts, balance sheets, and others. There is also material related to the founding of the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens including auction catalogs, invoices, receipts, and bills for art and rare books, and information regarding a lawsuit about Huntington's estate tax after his death, and the passing of Proposition 15, in 1930, which exempted The Huntington from paying California property tax. There is also material related to Collis P. Huntington and his business interests and Arabella Huntington. Also included are the blueprints for the Huntington's San Marino residence. Series 3. Correspondence contains over 22,000 pieces of personal and business correspondence spanning 1794 to 1970. The physical objects include Henry E. Huntington's lunch box, razors, traveling trunk, and other items.

A collection of approximately 3,500 items from 1893 to 1938, it consists of the business records of the Pasadena Orange Growers Association. These records deal with the company's organization and operation, consisting chiefly of correspondence and accounts with members of the organization; it includes information about: stockholder's meetings; tax information; daily picking records; pest control; marketing; and shipping. The collection also includes bound volumes of annual reports, stock certificates, various accounts, cash books, and receipts.
