A store ledger used as a general ledger for customer accounts; this volume was kept in association with volume 1 and contains general customer information concerning purchases and amounts owed. The volume is bound in original calf over marbled boards, with scuffed leather covers and worn spine; the interior pages are intact and legible.

Cassall, Stationer, pasted onto inside front cover; there is some water damage, especially in the beginning of the volume, with some loss of text.

This letterbook contains about 75 letters written by William B. Rice while doing business in Hawaii. He makes references to various aspects of Hawaiian life; an outbreak of smallpox; possible annexation by the United States; Hawaiian royalty; Judge William Little Lee; whaling; finances; ships arriving in Honolulu; and business and commerce in the islands. Note: Many of the letters are almost illegible; much of the ink has faded, and the volume is in fragile condition.

Letterbook of outgoing letters sent by San Francisco merchant Charles A. Thackston from May 15, 1852, to February 13, 1853. Most of the correspondence relates to Thackston's business contacts in New York, and references shipping, power of attorney, and notes on various residents of San Francisco. Some of the correspondence appears to be personal, possibly written to Thackston's brother. In a bound letterbook labeled "Leonora Thackston, Scrap Book, 1870."
