The volume begins with the "Laws and regulations of Oxford Society Library" (1792, March 29). The volume contains records of the library, meeting minutes, lists of the books checked out, books turned in, etc. There are several pages that have been cut out.

These three volumes of the Barlow Medical Library Association chronicle the first sixteen years of its operation. The volumes include minutes from 1907 to 1932, correspondence pertaining to the function of the library, lists of members, lists of donations, holding records for various years, by-laws and the Association's constitution. The volumes also include six loose items. In volume 1 they include: an obituary for a librarian, minutes for a1920 meeting, and minutes for a 1921 meeting. In volume 2 they include: a form letter from 1914, an undated notice, and a list of articles on fractures from 1912. In volume 3 they include: a pamphlet from the Barlow Medical Library and a note regarding the history of the Association.

Vineyard Mining Company minutes of meetings and constitution

This document lists the twenty-three articles of the constitution of the Vineyard Mining Company, dated 1849, attested and signed by Edward Crocker and Frederick Pease. Following the constitution are minutes from various meetings of the company, from 1850-1851, the first of which took place at the home of William H. Munroe, in Edgartown, Massachusetts. The Company appears to have been formed prior to departure for California, where it intends to base its operations. They will embark aboard the ship Sarah, captained by John O. Morse.

Manuscript (holograph, signed) commonplace book, "Index rerum," containing an index to Thoreau's Journal, a library catalogue, original compositions, and reviews of books. Partly in pencil. Laid into the volume is a letter to Thoreau from Ticknor & Fields, 1862 April 11 (incomplete); a list of books from Thoreau's library by Elizabeth J. Weir; and a list of "Books in my possession," by F. H. Bigelow, 1872 June.
