Alexander W. (Alexander William) Williamson letter to James Joseph Sylvester

In this letter, Williamson is notifying Sylvester that he was awarded the Copley Medal at the anniversary meeting of the Royal Society held on November 30 in London and that Williamson accepted it on Sylvester's behalf. Sylvester was then living in Maryland. Letter is written on Royal Society letterhead.

Williamson & Mendenhall letter to E. E. Stokes

In this letter, an employee of Williamson & Mendenhall is answering E. E. Stokes' previous request for information regarding clothes and supplies he will need for gold mining in the Klondike (the letter is written to Stokes in New York, N.Y.). The unknown author details specific types of clothing such as shirts, pants, socks, shoes, etc. (along with their prices). The letter also suggests supplies such as a shoulder bag and a sleeping bag appropriate for the Alaskan weather. An annotated illustration of a jacket is glued to the first page and a heavy cloth sample that was pinned to the front page is in an envelope with the letter. The letter is signed "Williamson & Mendenhall."

Scrapbook containing letters, drawings, photographs, and clippings belonging to Frank Holme. Although housed in a hardbound "scrapbook," all of the materials are loose. There are several items related to Holme's Bandar Log Press and the School of Illustration as well as several letters by designer and illustrator John Frew.

Frank J. Cotter scrapbook

A scrapbook created by Frank K. Cotter in the early part of the 20th century. The leather-bound scrapbook has a printed photo of Cotter pasted down on the title page; there is a modern autograph note, in an unknown hand, laid inside the front cover, with a few other printed items laid into the volume. The poems and short stories in the scrapbook are either printed clippings or typewritten copies, some of which were written by Cotter under his pseudonym Pat O'Cotter. The clippings and copies only fill twenty-five pages with the majority of the scrapbook containing blank and empty pages. The subjects covered are mainly World War I, Alaska, and the Klondike.

Fannie Taylor scrapbook

Scrapbook kept created by Fannie Taylor of Saint Louis, Missouri, in the 1850s. The newspaper clippings, illustrations, poetry, and other printed material glued into book, appear to be glued onto a business account book possibly belonging to John Foster, also of Saint Louis. There are other names written in the volume.
