This is apparently the original catalogue of King Charles I and King Charles II's printed books and manuscripts in the library at St. James's Palace; the volume also formerly owned by Colonel Lovelace in the 17th century. The volume is bound in red morocco leather; at each corner of the central panel and on the back are crowns with the letters C.C. intertwined. There are additional blank pages at the beginning and end of the volume, with some minimal insect damage; with modern autograph notes in pencil on the first page.

This manuscript is a collection of documents and transcriptions of receipts of proceeds from taxes and duties on imports and exports, collected by the Spanish government, in New Spain (Mexico), from 1560 to 1570. Someone named "de Cardenas," who is the "fiscal de Su majestad" (loosely translated as lawyer for the crown) is mentioned on the cover. The cover is loose. The manuscript has paper repairs and insect damage with some loss of text.

Wakes in Santa Clara County. The claim resulted in some quicksilver production. Includes a translation of the denouncement.

In this letter to his "Dear Brother, and Friends," V. A. VanCosen is reflective upon his time out West, and recounts a critical incident in the history of the city of San Francisco, the assassination of activist journalist James King of William. The killing incited tumult in the city and ultimately resulted in the formation of the second San Francisco Vigilance Committee.
