    A collection which consists of personal and professional correspondence, other papers, notebooks, a scriptural album, transcriptions, and ephemera related to Augusta E. Stetson. Included are letters from Mary Baker Eddy and several members of her family and household staff. Besides Mary Baker Eddy, the correspondents include Ebenezer J. Foster Eddy, Calvin A. Frye, Clara M. Shannon, and others. Also included are carbon copies of Augusta Stetson's letters to her students, press, and other papers. The correspondence deals with Augusta Stetson's religious and professional life, including her relationship with Mary Baker Eddy, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, and her teaching and writings.

    C. E. Smith letter to James Slusser

    C. E. Smith's letter describes business prospects and means in San José; he compares conditions there to the East Coast. In addition, Smith describes farming and livestock raising and the salaries that farmhands make. He also notes that he makes twenty-five dollars a month, only working when he wants to do so.     Henry E. Huntington letter to Kate W. Berton : photocopy

    Manuscripts

    A photocopy of a typewritten letter sent by Henry E. Huntington to Kate Berton from his San Marino Ranch. In the letter Huntington discusses the state of his health, which is getting better after his 1925 operation, and extolls the Ranch and the state of California as wonderful places for recuperation. He also speaks of Kate's "Aunt Belle" and how much she is missed after her death in 1924. Huntington describes the marble mausoleum he is designing and having built on the grounds of the Ranch which will be his final resting place beside Arabella; Henry E. Huntington died during an operation three months after this letter was written.
