These two documents concern land sold by John J. Davis and his wife Esther to Nicholas Augustus Den on December 29, 1849. A combined four lots of land in Stockton, California, changed hands. HM 26195 is a printed form filled in by hand, while HM 26196 is handwritten in its entirety. Judge James R. Reynolds signed both documents.

The list includes deeds involving Sam Brannan, John White Geary, Thomas Ap Catesby Jones, William A. Leidesdorff, Robert T. Ridley, and J. D. Stevenson. Some of the entries are accompanied by hand drawn plats.
