    The collection consists of documents, including account books, and manuscripts related to Heslop family genealogy, land dealings near the city of Pasadena (including Lamanda Park), and the litigation for title of Rancho Muscupiabe. Of note in the collection is a traced copy of a map of Rancho San Pascual, 1843, and José Heslop's diary of a voyage off the coast of Lower California and notes regarding working for Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin, 1906.

    Time books of Heslop Ranch, California

    Manuscripts

    These two volumes, both entitled "time of men in field & barn," contain the names of the men who worked on the Heslop ranch. It also includes their time worked and money earned. The majority of the workers are Mexican (the cover of one of the books says "No Chinamen"). The volumes have both English and Spanish in them. One of the volumes has information regarding various types of wine.

    The collection consists of letters, documents, account books and two photographs related mainly to David B. Alexander's purchase of property in the area of Fort, Main, Fifth, and Spring Streets in central Los Angeles. There are also materials related to his purchase of a portion of Rancho Muscupiabe in San Bernardino County and business regarding the ranch between Alexander and his partner Samuel W. Little. There are also business papers relating to property Alexander owned in Lincoln, Nebraska and account books kept by Alexander and both J. W. and J. A. Hartley.
