    This series is currently being re-processed and is not available. The Business records series includes financial documents and records from more than 30 of Henry E. Huntington's businesses and encompass all of his business interests (the material also contains some personal financial documents). The companies included in the series are (list is not exhaustive): Central Pacific Railroad, Dolgeville Land Co., Huntington Land and Improvement Co., Huntington-Redondo Co., Kentucky Central Railroad, Los Angeles Land Co., Los Angeles Railway Co., Naples Co., Naples Extension Co., Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. and other Newport Beach companies, Pacific Electric Railway Co., Pacific Light and Power Co., Redondo Beach Co., Riverside Improvement Co., Riverside Railway Co., San Gabriel River Improvement Co., San Gabriel Wine Co., San Marino Growers' Packing Association, San Marino Land Co., San Marino Packing House, Huntington's San Marino ranch, Southern Pacific Co., and Huntington's other railroad interests, Standard Felt Co., and Temple Street Cable Railway Co. The material consists of financial records, time books, stock records, cash books, receipt books, meeting minutes, legal documents and loans, reports, field books, tract maps, blueprints, deeds, journals, ledgers, real estate information, tax information, correspondence and telegrams, loan information, by-laws and other incorporating documentation, and sales and shipping records. Some of the records document the various crops being grown on Huntington properites and contain information about fruit and crop totals and sales.     The collection consists of the personal and business papers of Henry E. Huntington. There is material related to the Huntington, Holladay, and Metcalf families, but most of the collection deals with Huntington's business interests in Southern California, railways, real estate, and industry. Series 2. Henry E. Huntington and his family includes biographical information, newspaper clippings, photographs, scrapbooks, ephemera, and physical objects. There is material related to the Huntington Land and Improvement Company, Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, and the Pacific Electric Railway Company as well as other businesses in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley, California. This material includes business records, account books, annual reports, correspondence, maps, tracts, balance sheets, and others. There is also material related to the founding of the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens including auction catalogs, invoices, receipts, and bills for art and rare books, and information regarding a lawsuit about Huntington's estate tax after his death, and the passing of Proposition 15, in 1930, which exempted The Huntington from paying California property tax. There is also material related to Collis P. Huntington and his business interests and Arabella Huntington. Also included are the blueprints for the Huntington's San Marino residence. Series 3. Correspondence contains over 22,000 pieces of personal and business correspondence spanning 1794 to 1970. The physical objects include Henry E. Huntington's lunch box, razors, traveling trunk, and other items.
