"The Arion Press was established in 1974 by Andrew Hoyem. It was the continuation of a sole proprietorship, Andrew Hoyem - Printer, that followed his partnership with Robert Grabhorn, the younger of the two brothers in the famous Grabhorn Press, active in San Francisco from 1920 to 1965. The press was known as Grabhorn-Hoyem from 1966 until the deaths of Robert and his wife Jane in 1973. From 1961 to 1964, Andrew Hoyem was in partnership with Dave Haselwood in the Auerhahn Press, which aspired to fine letterpress printing and published Beat Generation writers. Hoyem's career since then spans over fifty-four years. Between 1975 and 2014, Arion Press published one hundred books. Reaching that milestone seemed an appropriate reason to take stock of what had been accomplished and to publish a bibliography. The present volume is the one hundred and fifth of Arion Press, so this is not a winding up but a backward look in anticipation of more to come, as the nonprofit Grabhorn Institute, owner of Arion Press and the typefoundry Mackenzie & Harris, perpetuates their historic fine printing and book-making facility. The work of Arion's predecessor the Grabhorn Press was recorded in three volumes in folio-format bibliographies, printed from handset type on handmade paper with leaves from their books bound in. Arion Press has chosen a smaller format with photographic illustrations of the books, the locations, the staff, artists, authors, and supporters. The printing is from digital type by offset lithography. [Gregynog Press collection of ephemera and correspondence]

A collection of assorted ephemera and 3 items of correspondence, dated from 1927-1929, from the Gregynog Press. Five of the items are Christmas cards from the owners and the press, decorated with wood-cut illustrations. Some of the items are printed in two colors. Includes a folder of page samples from various Gregynog Press publications, some in color.

This collection contains of the business records of the Merrymount Press and the related papers of its founder Daniel Berkeley Updike (1860-1941). The bulk of the collection consists of financial volumes; correspondence with customers, publishers, illustrators, craftsmen, and suppliers; bills; estimates; and scrapbooks with specimens of work. While the majority of the correspondence is comprised of letters, there are occasionally proofs, specimens, and cloth, paper, fabric samples, etc., found with the correspondence. The records reflect Updike's involvement with printing across the United States and in Europe, though much of his work was produced for clients in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York City. Some of the correspondence reflects Updike's personal interests including Rhode Island history and churches and charitable work with poor children as well as prison inmates.

The collection consists of some literary papers and correspondence of Elwyn Irving Hoffman. Of note in the collection are letters from Jack and Charmian London and related materials which include fifty photographs of the voyage of "The Snark," the Londons, and their ranch at Glen Ellen. Other correspondents represented in the collection include: Mary Hunter Austin, Temple Bailey, Maynard Dixon, Lyndon Dodge, Dudley Kinsell, Charles Fletcher Lummis, Joaquin Miller, and Israel Zangwill. There are also some notebooks kept by Hoffman and sheet music.
