A series of detailed extracts from the eighteenth century works of Vertue including his travel notebooks, autobiographical materials and account books. Irrelevant to record of churches & places but noteworthy because of Vertue's influence on Katharine Esdaile's work (not indexed).

Provenance
Purchased by the Huntington Library in 1962. The collection was initially accessioned into the Huntington Art Reference Library in 1962. Sometime afterwards, the printed books and pamphlets were removed, separately catalogued, and shelved with the main body of the Art Reference Books, and the photographs were removed to the Photo Study Collection. In 2005, the Art Reference Library collection was merged into the main collection of the Huntington Library and the decision was made to re-integrate the printed material and photographs of the Esdaile collection into the papers.

Pages 1-3 Notes on Book of Samuel in the Bible, apparently by Katharine Esdaile's Mother, followed by personal diary entries by Katharine Esdaile about family and professional work for February 18, 1910 (pages A-H); followed by October 25, 1929 (J-K). Subsequent pages alternate between lists of Italian Sculptors who worked in UK (pages L-S and LL-XX); works, architecture, and the school of Bernini (pages 4-6, 23-29, 31-32); "FREEMASONS WILLS" (pages BA-BF); Vertue (page 7). Churches visited (and some houses): - Henton in the Hedges (?)
