This small group of items, which was gathered by Voncille McCord Eastham in her research on Phoebe Apperson Hearst, includes a variety of different formats including: facsimiles of letters, newsletters, newspaper clippings and copies of photographs. The topics covered include: Phoebe Apperson Hearst and the Hearst family, the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Historical Society, Inc., the kidnapping and trial of Patricia Hearst, and explosive devices going off at Wyntoon Castle, the Hearst's private estate in Siskiyou County, California in 1976, a few weeks after explosive devices went off at Hearst Castle (the New World Liberation Front claimed responsibility for both events). Notable authors include: Phoebe Apperson Hearst (two facsimiles of poetry written by her), Fred Emerson Brooks, and Austine Hearst, wife of William Randolph Hearst, Jr. The photographs include pictures of Phoebe Hearst, her residence at Pleasanton, California, and Wyntoon Castle. The items are organized in chronological order.

The correspondence is between Vonnie Eastham and various people regarding creating a U.S. commemorative stamp to honor Hearst including a copy of a letter by Congressman Harold T. "Bizz" Johnson to President Lyndon B. Johnson, 1967 August 11. There is also a copy of the newsletter of The Phoebe Apperson Hearst Historical Society, 1969 October, as well as photocopies of letters and other material related to and written by Hearst, dated 1862 to 1898.
