    Manuscript on vellum scroll, in Hebrew (mssHM 40697), 5.5 x 120 inches; "Hamelech mesillah" mounted on a brass crown (Keter Torah). At the end of the scroll written in Russian: "In the name of God. Help. Quickly. Andre." Also enclosed with the scroll: a translation of this Russian note, sent in an envelope from California Institute of Technology, August 19, 1946.
