There is also some information on mining in Arizona and Montana. Over 500 letters in the collection addressed to John Daniell, Sr. are chiefly from Albert S. Bigelow and officers of the Bigelow-Clark Syndicate in Boston, Massachusetts. Three letter books and correspondence belonging to John Daniell, Jr. are chiefly concerned with mining in Finland, Arizona, and Montana, where the younger Daniell worked as a mining engineer from 1899 to 1923.

Included in this series are correspondence, financial documents, printed material, and ephemera belonging to both John Daniell, Sr. and John Daniell, Jr. Much of the correspondence is addressed to John Daniell, Sr. from Alfred S. Bigelow and Thomas Nelson during their perspective roles as Secretary and Treasurer under the Boston investment firm which operated the Osceola Consolidated Mining Company and the Tamarack Mining Company. The remaining material pertains to John Daniell, Jr.'s employment with the Wolverine & Arizona Mining Company along with various personal and financial documents.
