    Maynard L. Parker negatives, photographs, and other material consists of 57,893 black-and-white negatives, color transparencies, black-and-white prints, and color prints; 39 presentation albums; and 17 boxes of office records, 1930-1974. Created primarily by Maynard Parker, the archive documents the residential and non-residential work of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, artists, builders, real estate developers, and clients associated with these fields, foremost among them the magazine House Beautiful. Also included in the collection are photographs taken by other individuals, such as architect Cliff May and Parker's assistant, Charles Yerkes.

    Miscellaneous photographs, mainly of cacti and succulent plants

    Manuscripts

    A collection of 648 items from 1918 to 1937, it consists of correspondence, manuscripts, documents and photographs primarily related to Rost's interests in cacti. Included is a typewritten manuscript of his book Something about cacti, a translation of Alwin Berger's Kakteen (1929), and articles by Ernest N. Rost and his wife Etta Newbury Rost, who wrote under the pseudonym Esther Norton. Correspondents in the collection include Joseph Nelson Rose, Curator of Botany at the Smithsonian Institution and Nathaniel Lord Britton, director of the New York Botanical Gardens. The collection also contains 505 photographs, including 287 photographs of cacti and succulent plants which were to be included in Something bout cacti, 3 oversize photograph albums, and approximately 800 glass plate negatives.

    The Planetary Society records

    This collection consists of material created by and related to The Planetary Society since its beginning in 1980 and up to 2016 (although there is also some material earlier than 1980). It contains Board of Directors correspondence, memorandums, and meeting minutes; material related to public relations, events, fundraising and membership; copies of The Planetary Report (not a complete set); NASA photo files; material related to the Solar Sail and the Mars Rover program; NASA, JPL, and space exploration in general; Apollo reports; the Hubble Telescope; and US and Russian cooperation in space (including Planetary Society staff's trips to Russia). The collection also contains photographs and negatives; video cassette tapes and film; clippings; T-shirts, posters, badges, stickers, memorabilia; artwork; and miscellaneous material. There is material both about and by: Carl Sagan (including his 265-page curriculum vitae), Bruce Murray, Louis Friedman, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Buzz Aldrin. There is artwork by space artists Ron Miller, Michael W. Carroll and Mark Paternostro among others. Although there are series entitled "Clippings," "Photographs," "Mars," "Carl Sagan," etc., those formats and the topics can be found in other series in the collection.

    This collection contains records of the Flower Festival Society, a women's association in Los Angeles, California, dating from 1885 to 1891. The records include correspondence, festival and fair programs, newspaper clippings, photographs, a notebook, a list of donations, and other documents about the Flower Festival Society. The records provide a unique perspective to view California women's history and leisure activities at the end of the nineteenth century. In addition, newspaper clippings about the Chrysanthemum Fair include some women's favorable perceptions of Japanese and Chinese art and culture. Subjects in the records include Arrowhead Springs (Calif.), Chinese Art objects, Chinese culture and civilization, Chrysanthemums – China, Chrysanthemums – Japan, Japanese Art objects, Los Angeles times, Southern Pacific Transportation Company, and the YMCA of the USA.

    This collection contains the records of the Southern California Society for the History of Medicine and its two predecessor organizations, the Friends of the LACMA Library and the George Dock Society for the History of Medicine. Also included are some files from the Los Angeles Medical Library, an unaffiliated organization that shared several of the same officers.

The records include correspondence, festival & fair programs, newspaper clippings, photographs, a notebook, a list of donations, and other documents about the Flower Festival Society. The folders are arranged in chronological order. The items in each folder, whenever possible, are also arranged chronologically.
