The collection consists of approximately 400 items from 1905 to 1968. Craig's professional papers relate to his publications, including articles, chapters of books, notes and outlines. There is a significant amount of correspondence with his publishers, as well as personal correspondence and autobiographical material. Subjects include: the Renaissance, William Shakespeare, Elizabethan drama and literature, Francis Bacon, and Una Ellis-Fermor. Correspondence in the collection includes approximately 150 letters to his wife, Gertrude Craig, one letter and ten postcards from Frederick James Furnivall, two letters from Sir Walter Wilson Greg, and approximately 100 letters from Hardin Craig to Marchette Chute.
