- A collection of approximately 600 items from 1859 to 1928; it consists of 85 diaries, letters, manuscripts, documents, and 2 account books. The material reflects the day-to-day life of a bank president and businessman in Napa, California. The collection also includes original and typewritten copies of a memoir entitled, Reminiscences. Much of the correspondence is related to Chapman's business activities, although there is also some personal correspondence. The original gift included boxes 1-3 and the addenda comprised boxes 4-6.
