    Correspondence and business records Archelaus Hughes. Included are rentals, leases, titles, and building contracts of real estate in Richmond, adjacent to the James River Canal, and surveys and deeds for property in Kent and Henrico Conties. There are a few personal letters, including ones discussing the trial of Aaron Burr (1807) and Fourth of July (1813), and a letter from John Clopton (1756-1816) about political and congressional news (1810)

    Brock collection : Frederick W. Sims papers

    Manuscripts

    Correspondence of Frederick W. Sims that covers his service with the Confederate railroad offices and the Quartermaster Department. The collection includes his letterbook, with his outgoing correspondence (mostly telegrams) from June 9 to October 19, 1863, and fourteen letters and telegrams addressed to him that Sims received between January 16, 1864 and March 28, 1865. Also included is a receipt for an advertisement in the Savannah Republican (1859, Mar. 9).

    Official correspondence and documents, chiefly referring to requisitions for stores: for stoves and fuel, office supplies and equipment, building materials, and the sale of government buildings. Many of the letters are addressed to Daniel Henry Rucker, Chief Quartermaster of the Washington Depot, or bear his endorsements. Included are letters regarding supplies for Freedmens' Hospital, Army Medical Museum, National Baseball club, and U.S. Burial Corps
