    Chiefly letters, dispatches, communications, and petitions received by Benjamin Harrison during his service as speaker of the State House of Delegates and Governor of Virginia. Included are letters of acceptance and resignation from Virginia members of the Continental Congress, communications relating to taxation, raising of troops, procurement for the army, restitutions, bailing of prisoners, and other aspects of Revolutionary war in Virginia. Correspondents include Gabriel Jones, William Fitzhugh, Joseph Jones, Meriwether Smith, Thomas Jefferson, Edward Carrington, Rochambeau, and Patrick Henry.

    Brock Collection: Confederate States of America hospitals collection

    Manuscripts

    Letters and documents pertaining to personnel (letters of recommendation, agreements, returns), and patients (reports and lists, discharge papers, request for physical examinations, medical certificates) of various Confederate hospitals. The bulk of the collection pertains to Winder Hospital, although there are some items relating to Chimborazo Hospital, a hospital for Negroes "engaged on work on Richmond Defense," Refuge Hill Hospital, Robertson Hospital, and Williamsburg Seminary Hospital. Many letters are addressed to Dr. Alexander G. Lane, Surgeon-in-charge of the Winder hospital
