The collection includes correspondence, reports and ephemera. The Correspondence series is primarily related to the Conservative Water Company. Many of the letters deal with the company's public health, financial and legal issues. Though the letters are to or from the Conservative Water Company, many are addressed to and signed by Elizabeth E. Pedder and Otto B. Frank. The company corresponded with institutions like Bank of America, the California Department of Public Health, Hellman Commercial Trust & Savings Bank, and Pacific-Southwest Trust & Savings Bank. The series is arranged in alphabetical order by author and then by addressee. The Reports series is arranged in alphabetical order by author and then by addressee. The reports are primarily about the company's water supply. Moreover, there are some reports about the company's financial state. Many of the reports contain financial information and correspondence inside. Lastly, the Ephemera series includes newspaper clippings, financial documents, legal documents, maps, pamphlets, empty envelopes and public health documents. There are also several maps.

Manuscripts
This collection consists of materials relating to Ralph H. Cameron's political and business activities, mostly in the years between 1903 and 1912. Box 1 consists of manuscript files, including land and mining claims, financial documents, and political documents, including press releases regarding statehood and ranching. Also included with the manuscripts are materials related to bills introduced by Cameron, "Letters Protesting the Statehood Bill," and Congratulatory telegrams. The "Bills Introduced" includes depredation claims reported to Cameron, for which he sought Congressional consideration, and consist of correspondence with the claimants and Commissioner of Indian Affairs Robert G. Valentine, copies of the legislation Cameron sponsored, and Congressional Committee reports on the proposals. Also included with "Bills Introduced" is material relating to a bridge over the Little Colorado River in Arizona for which Cameron sought Congressional funding. The material protesting statehood consist almost entirely of letters, many of them mechanically reproduced or copied verbatim, demanding that Arizona be allowed to maintain its provisions for a literacy requirement in voter registration. One file consists of congratulatory telegrams sent on the occasion of Arizona's statehood.

The correspondence series contains 961 letters and is organized alphabetically by author. The series consists of a large number of letters written to the Jacobs brothers and their mercantile and banking operations. The collection includes letters from individual customers and businesses regarding their accounts, letters from other banking institutions regarding customers, and letters from suppliers and shippers regarding the mercantile business. The correspondence also includes a significant number of letters written within the Jacobs family. There are number of early letters from Mark Jacobs to his wife, Hannah, as well as a few written to his sons, Lionel and Barron. There are also quite a few letters written by Lionel to Barron as well as a few from their youngest brother, Albert, and a number from their sisters and brothers-in-law. The financial documents series contains 2,191 documents, sorted and alphabetized by type and then by institution or organization. The bulk of financial documents consist of processed checks, collection and returns forms, and receipt postal cards. The financial documents also include account books, balance sheets, bills, inventory lists, order forms, protest cards, receipts, and tax receipts. These documents reflect both the mercantile and banking enterprises of the Jacobs family including L. M. Jacobs and Company, Pima County Bank, Agency Pima County Bank, Cochise County Bank, and First National Bank.

This collection is divided into two main parts, both arranged alphabetically. The documents relate to various aspects of Henry Warren Johnson's life and work. The bulk of the documents are notes for his manuscript, "The Story of Placerville Road." This manuscript, along with the accompanying notes and documents, chronicles his experiences traveling around California, while narrating the history of California's modernization. Other documents in the collection relate to his other book projects, his bird-banding expeditions, and his version of the history of the Post Office's entrance into California. The correspondence is largely Henry Warren Johnson's accounts of his automobile trips in California and the Pacific Northwest. According to his letters, he and his sister travelled to Morro Bay, Monterey, San Diego, Mammoth Lake, Bouquet Canyon, and Sequoia Park, all of which are in California. He also vacationed near the Columbia River in Oregon. The collection also includes several letters between Johnson and J.J. Brockliss about the Brockliss Bridge in Nevada. The last bit of correspondence relates to his political views about democracy, Roosevelt, and the economic state of the world. There are also two ephemera folders, one containing sketch maps for a manuscript and the other comprising of various printed material such as tourists' maps and newspaper clippings.

The Temple Oil Company Records is comprised of ephemera, invoices, leases, deeds, letters of resignation, financial documents, receipts, proxies and resolutions. Prominent participants include Thomas Robert Bard, Prudent Beaudry, the Southern Pacific Railroad Company and Francis Pliny F. Temple.
