A series of letters written to Charles Kent on the occasion of a dinner held in honor of Charles Dickens before his departure to the United States in November 1867. The letters were written in response to Kent's request the letter writers would be stewards for the dinner on November 2, 1867. The majority of the letters are short notes accepting or declining the invitation; many of the letters with envelopes. The letters were written by many of the most famous men of Victorian Britain, including prime ministers, politicians, authors, actors, artists, and businessmen, including, among others, Wilkie Collins, Frederick Locker-Lampson, and William Henry Wills. The collection also includes a small number of letters by Charles Dickens, printed copies of all the letters and other ephemera, a large printed poster announcing the dinner, and the original separated bindings.

The collection consists of correspondence, essays, bibliographical notes, bound volumes, and ephemera either pertaining to or collected by Joseph C. Loughran. The majority of the items relate to Utah history from the 1860s to the 1940s and focus on Weber County, particularly the Ogden area. Items of note include genealogy records for the Fuller, Jacobs-Huntington, Hansen, and Young families; extensive bibliographical records related to Mormon history; a book of poetry and essays by Reba B. Pratt (1880); a book of annotated newspaper clippings by Mormon dissenter Lamoni Call; shopkeeper's day books and account books kept in Ogden from the 1860s-1880s and which feature entries for Lorin Farr, Edwin Smout, George Lake, Seth M. Blair, R.D. Sprague, H.B. Scovill, and others; a wage and account book for Ogden gravedigger Joseph Compton (1880-1883); a record of temple work in Ogden (c.1921-1922); record books of the Primary Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11th Ward, Logan Stake, Utah (1931-1934); and a record book from the Ancient Order of United Workmen, Hall Fidelity Lodge No.3 of Ogden (1894-1900).

Collection consists mainly of correspondence from the period 1910-14, beginning when Oddie initiated his campaign for governor and ending when he was about to terminate his administration. The correspondence is arranged in 19 boxes in alphabetical order by author. There are also 6 boxes and 4 rolls of Nevada State papers, almost entirely copies of legislative bills for the year 1873, and a small number of documents from other years. Subjects include: mining, politics, and government in Nevada (including divorce laws), women's rights, the financial panic of 1907, the Progressive party, and the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915.

The collection is comprised primarily of the manuscripts, correspondence and ephemera of Hilary Mantel. Manuscripts include short stories, interviews, lectures, scripts, articles and reviews, as well as various drafts and notes for Mantel's novels. The collection contains business letters and emails from publishers, agents, other authors, newspapers and magazines, as well as personal letters and emails from family, friends and personal fan letters. Ephemera includes photographs, audio materials and printed material, including some research material for her novels.
