Armorial bookplate on front pastedown: Mark Masterman Sykes. Manuscript inscription on free endpaper at beginning, "Cat. V4. P21. MMS Sledmere". Syston Park armorial bookplate and label printed JHT [i.e. John Hayford Thorold]. After the death of John Hayford, 10th Baronet Thorold, the collection of incunabula and other books remained in the family's estate at Syston Park until 1884. Purchased by Quaritch in 1884. Engraved bookplate with monogram "BI" [i.e. Brayton Ives], and manuscript "17" in red. Purchased by Mitchell's Rare and Standard Books in 1891. Bookplate: Ex libris Ross Winans. Purchased by Henry Huntington from George D. Smith in 1918.
