Provenance: Purchased from Vollbehr, March 23, 1925. Extensive ms. annotations in several early hands throughout the volume; many are just extractions of keywords from the commentary. On original endpapers, ms. list references to various characters and episodes, indicating the canticle and canto where they can be found. Inscription on leaf N6v: 1532 a di 7 di magio ijo alesandro da Begozo fece queste literre et cet[era?] 1532 dies septem mensis maij ego alisander de begutio feci as literas et cet[era?] Vale. Inscription on leaf a1r: Est mag[istr]i Davidis Romulei Vigletiensis. On free endpaper at beginning, ms. inscription in an 18th century hand: Ex libris Dominici Ceroni. Autograph in a 19th century hand: P. P. Scavini. Inscription on front pastedown "Ex bibl Vollbehr" and his inventory number "10867" on free endpaper at beginning.
