Provenance: In reddish ink in an ornamental secretary hand, signature "Thomas Culpeper". On leaf [a]2r, inscription in brown ink: "Sy: Jasson, querendo requiem perdidi, Requiendo inveni:". On leaf1.2r, in a different hand from the others: at least one line cropped, followed by "ferre minora: ne grauoria:". In margin, in a different hand, "Ob: 1463", referring to Sir John Fastolf. Occasional pen trials. On leaves ²b6r and ²2f6v, signatures of John Culpeper. Shelfmark in red on first flyleaf verso: "K.p 7" of Thomas Herbert, Earl of Pembroke. Purchased by George D. Smith at the Pembroke sale June 1914 for Henry E. Huntington.
