Collection consists mainly of correspondence from the period 1910-14, beginning when Oddie initiated his campaign for governor and ending when he was about to terminate his administration. The correspondence is arranged in 19 boxes in alphabetical order by author. There are also 6 boxes and 4 rolls of Nevada State papers, almost entirely copies of legislative bills for the year 1873, and a small number of documents from other years. Subjects include: mining, politics, and government in Nevada (including divorce laws), women's rights, the financial panic of 1907, the Progressive party, and the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915.

The collection consists of letters, manuscripts (including diaries and scientific reports), documents and photographs related to the life and interests of geologist Bailey Willis. Subject matter includes: the work, travels and family of Bailey Willis; geology, especially earthquakes; scientists and scientific institutions. There are also early photographs of China (1903-04) and Argentina (1911-13). Persons represented by over twenty pieces in the collection include: Charles Peter Berkey, Eliot Blackwelder, Rollin Thomas Chamberlin, Thomas Chrowder Chamberlin, Arthur Louis Day, Frederick Putnam Gulliver, Charles Willard Hayes, Stephen Joseph Kubel, Henry Fairfield Osborn, Albrecht Penck, Raphael Pumpelly, Rollin D. The Generations of George Speere 1642-1942 Three Centuries of American Life

The collection consists of the papers of three generations of the Spear family: Alexander Fulton Spear (1800-1853), Alexander Fulton Spear (1827-1900), and Lewis Eugene Spear (1867-1953). It includes the Gold Rush journal of Alexander Fulton Spear (1800-1853), which documents his ocean journey from Maine to California aboard the ship "Perfect" and mining near Coloma, California. There are also papers regarding the marine service of Alexander Fulton Spear (1827-1900) and a few business papers pertaining to Lewis Eugene Spear (1867-1953), the Pacific Steel & Wire Co., and the Pacific Wire Rope Co. Two noteworthy items in the collection are a photograph album showing Southern California, Monterey, and a trip to Alaska (1900-02) and a diary of a trip from San Francisco to Coquille, Oregon, on the steam schooner "Chico" which includes 25 photographs (1903). The addenda consists of ephemera, genealogy material, and photographs related to the Spear and Whitney families.
