This notebook charts the progress of the bridge's construction from the preparations for sinking of the midstream cylinders in March 1896 to the building and launching of the main girders and the riveting of the cross girders in October 1896. Supplementing the text throughout is a series of 70 photographs, as well as sketches and drawings and graphs showing progress of some of the operations.
