Manuscripts
A manuscript of science course notes, probably following the natural philosophy course of Robert Eden Scott of King's College Aberdeen (1769-1811), and offering insight into the teaching of physics at the height of the Industrial Revolution. The compiler was one William Watt, who was a student at the college 1806-1810, and who neatly adds his name to one of his careful illustrations, at end. It appears that William Watt may have used diagrams present in the 1805 edition of James Ferguson's "Lectures on select subjects in mechanic", and also from Olinthus Gregory's "Treatise of Mechanics" (1806) as a guide in preparing those included in this manuscript.

Copy of 51-page typescript of book written by Lyle D. Feisel and two pages of correspondence between Feisel and Bern Dibner. The typescript concerns the history of electrical science and includes chapters on the work of scientists including William Gilbert, Otto von Guericke, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Augustin Coulomb, Luigi Galvani, Alessandro Volta, Hans Christian Oersted, André-Marie Ampère, Georg Ohm, Michael Faraday, Carl Friedrich Gauss, Wilhelm Weber, and James Clerk Maxwell. In a letter written by Feisel to Dibner enclosing the typescript and dated 1972, February 28, Feisel mentions earlier correspondence between the two and describes the Notes, thanking Dibner for his interest in the history of electrical science. In a letter written in response dated 1972, March 7, Dibner mentions a list of publications on the history of electricity and magnetism and invites Feisel to join the Society for the History of Technology.

The Southern California Edison Records contain books, catalogs, correspondence, journals, ledgers, log books, meeting minutes, newsletters, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, photographs, press releases, reports, scrapbooks, and other materials documenting the history of the Southern California Edison (SCE) Company. The records cover the years 1848 to 1989 with the bulk of the material ranging from 1911 to 1965. The material is largely textual with the exception of a few non-paper items scattered throughout.
