The collection is comprised primarily of the manuscripts, correspondence and ephemera of Hilary Mantel. Manuscripts include short stories, interviews, lectures, scripts, articles and reviews, as well as various drafts and notes for Mantel's novels. The collection contains business letters and emails from publishers, agents, other authors, newspapers and magazines, as well as personal letters and emails from family, friends and personal fan letters. Ephemera includes photographs, audio materials and printed material, including some research material for her novels.

Manuscripts
Genealogical and historical account of the Ide family. Opens with a genealogical chart tracing the "Ide Family History, Rehoboth, Mass. to Monroeville, Calif." from 1620 to 1949. Includes prose biographies for some individuals, usually taken verbatim from published sources. Interspaced are typescripts of various public records (including land claims) and letters relating to the Ide family. Many of the records are from Shasta and Tehema Counties, California. The manuscript ends with a map of the Monroeville Cemetery in 1949 and a plan of the Rancho Copay, Monroe Farm, 1855.
