Description: On pages 244-249: Magendie showed that secondary or subsequent injections of egg/albumin caused death in rabbits who had tolerated an initial injection. Jenner, in 1798, had observed the phenomenon in various inoculations but this was the first experiment in anaphylaxis. These lectures were given at the Collège de France in 1837-1838.
