Description
Medical advances in resuscitating drowning victims, with additions to 1791 edition. The folded plate illustrates several instruments, including a gullet occluder, which consisted of a gum elastic catheter (stimulants such as brandy then might be introduced into the stomach); and an endotracheal tube, with side holes to reduce the risk of the catheter being blocked.
