    Brief biographical sketch of Hans Hansen (1862-1953) by his daughter, Gertrude Hansen Standage. Traces significant events in Hansen's life, including the early death of his mother and his upbringing by his grandmother, with whom he sold vegetables to make a living; his 1879 move to Arizona with his father; his 1885 marriage to Loretta Ellsworth in St. Geroge, Utah; and his 1902-1904 Mormon mission to Denmark. Also includes an account of Hansen avoiding hostile Indians to deliver a letter to Fort Apache and a brief description of Standage's grandparents, the Ellsworths (parents of Loretta Ellsworth).
