One penmanship book entitled Advanced Edition of the Palmer Method of Business Writing, by A. N. Palmer, published by The A. N. Palmer Company, New York, Chicago, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Portland, Oregon, 1928. The cover title reads: The Advanced Edition Palmer Method of Business Writing by A. N. Palmer. This book is 96 pages in length, and contains 113 penmanship and writing drills. The first few pages consist of introductory and prefatory material. The book is divided into three Lessons: 1 "Correct Positions for Classroom Writing"; Lesson 2 "Physical Training in Penmanship Practice" (which is comprised of the 133 drills); and Lesson 3 "Applied Writing" in which sample forms, letters and ledgers are given. The front cover is decorated with a leafy, decorative frame that surrounds the title. On the back cover is a circular design. Both the insides of the front and back covers are blank. "Barbara Pulsifer" (previous owner) is written in ms. in the upper right-hand corner of the front cover. "Barbara Pulsifer, Main Street, Wenham, Mass. Simmons College '33" is written in ms., in ink, on the inside of the front cover. "25 [cents symbol]" (price) is written in ms., in pencil in the upper right-hand corner of the title page.
