    Approx. 12 items: LAT articles, material prepared by Arcadia Chamber of Commerce (late 1930s), brief notes with information on turf activities, etc. Notable items: two 1938 brochures produced by California Anti-racing Assn., "Who beats the pari-mutuel machine?" and "Turf gambling" ; an Arcadia Chamber of Commerce 1-pp. report, dated 5/10/1939, and addressed to "the Chambers of Commerce of Southern California" containing positive material on horse racing, summarized with the quote - "A canvass of Arcadia business men has been made (revealing) that 95% believe Santa Anita is a benefit to Arcadia and the surrounding community..." ; 2-pp. chronology headed "The Times and Horse-racing," dated 10/25/1976, featuring headlines and quotes from LAT editorials expressing opposition to horse racing, 1932 - 1935 ; related material.

Also in this folder are four memos; five congratulatory letters, an original and photocopy of a photograph of Chandler kneeling next to his car; and the program for the 1979 Los Angeles Times Grand Prix Weekend races at Riverside International Raceway and the Starting Grids.

    The collection consists of letters, documents, volumes, and maps related to the business affairs of the Santa Anita Ranch from 1901 to 1904, and the Los Angeles Racing Association from 1907 to 1922. Of the approximately 600 pieces in this collection, 400 are receipts of the Los Angeles Racing Association. Additional material in the collection includes correspondence, diaries, and documents related to the personal and business affairs of Anita M. Baldwin. Also included is the estate settlements of Elias Jackson Baldwin and his elder daughter Clara Baldwin Stocker for the period from 1876 to 1936, including two volumes of city dockets on criminal and civil justice for the city of Arcadia, California. The Addenda includes business papers for Baldwin M. Baldwin, the Los Angeles Racing Association, and Anita M. Baldwin. The Addenda also includes a small amount of personal material related to Anita M. Baldwin such as address books, library and household inventories, poems and other compositions, musical scores, photographs, and scrapbooks.
