- Katie Paterson's Future Library is a large scale public art project commissioned by Bjørvika Utvikling in Oslo, Norway as part of the Slow Space public art program. For the next century it will exist in two forms--as a print, and as 1,000 trees. The texts will be held in a specially designed room in the New Public Deichmanske Library, Oslo. The first writer to contribute was Margaret Atwood. This work consists of one original, signed and stamped certificate of authenticity, one archival letter, signed by the artist, and a final anthology of 100 texts printed on paper made from the forest in Nordmarka grown for Future Library to be released in 2114. The anthology cannot be collected without the archival letter signed by the artist and a copy of the certificate.
