Presentation inscription by William Richardson to John Rogers on front flyleaf in vol. 1: Mr Richardsons respects to his very kind friend, sends him his own reserved copy of Portraits for illustrating the Revd Mr Grangers Biographical History of England &c To which he as [sic] added some few others including the original print of Alderman Leate[?] by Payne; they are marked with [symbol] ... there was no compleat index printed. I have therefore wrote one, have paged the portraits at the top and at the bottom reference to the volume and page of Granger. Autograph on front flyleaf in v. 1: John Rogers Esqr. Armorial bookplate on front pastedown in both volumes: Arthur J. Rogers. Bookplate on free endpaper at beginning in vol. 1: Robert J. Hayhurst.
